5 Questions With: William Baldwin

We love celebrities who aren't afraid to speak their minds, so it's no surprise we count the famously outspoken Baldwins as favorites.

'Dirty Sexy Money' star William Baldwin -- who campaigned for President-elect Barack Obama and openly criticized born-again younger brother Stephen's anti-gay marriage comments -- does not disappoint. In talking about his sophomore ABC TV series and the media attention surrounding his character's romance with a transgender female, he manages to slam George Bush, Sarah Palin ... and his brother Alec.

1. When you're playing newly elected Senator Patrick Darling, is there a politician you model the character after?
You know, sometimes I get a little confused. There's part of me that thinks that Patrick Darling is more like Bill Clinton, who is a bright man and an impressive man, who is somebody that you would vote for, but who makes unbelievably flawed and self-destructive and stupid choices in his life. But there's no denying that he's a bright man. Other times, there are certain ways Patrick is not Bill Clinton, he's George Bush. He's just plain stupid. He's just an idiot! So I vacillate between wanting to be Bill Clinton and fighting the perception of his own siblings that he's George Bush.

2. Sarah Palin named her "favorite Baldwin" and it wasn't you ...
Oh, I was so relieved! I felt like I dodged a rocket-propelled grenade. I knew that was never coming for me -- no way. But did you hear what my f---ing brother [Alec] called Sarah Palin on 'David Letterman' the other day? My brother is so f---ing brilliant -- he refers to McCain and Palin as McBush and Bible Spice. He f---ing called Sarah Palin Bible Spice. Are you sh--ting me? That is just awesome. I feel bad for [McCain] because he wasn't running against Obama, he was running against George Bush. That was the simplicity and the brilliance of the Obama campaign -- just pin the tail on the donkey and just keep calling McCain Bush. But naming Sarah Palin his running mate ... I just don't know what the hell he was thinking.

3. You've said that kissing your transgender co-star Candis Cayne is just like kissing Cindy Crawford. Is Cindy on your list of best co-star kissers?
Are you kidding me? If some tragic accident were to befall [my wife] Chynna Phillips and [Cindy Crawford's husband] Rande Gerber was standing on the edge of a cliff, guess where Rande Gerber would wind up? Down in the ravine. [Laughs] I absolutely adore her ... I would be first in line to ask her out on a date. But [kissing Candis] is just like kissing Cindy Crawford -- a beautiful woman is a beautiful woman. I don't see Candis any differently -- she was born a woman and she is a woman today. She happened to have the anatomy of a man, but she's 1,000% woman. She's awesome -- I love her.

4. And now John Schneider -- Bo Duke from 'Dukes of Hazzard'! -- is guesting on the show. What can we expect?
In one word: scandal. Dirty, sexy scandal. John Schneider ... his Congressman Charles Watley is a bad boy. The stuff going on with John is gonna be great. We shot a scene last week and it was just very ... deviant. But I don't want [our guest stars] to be to the point of distraction, when we start, like, stunt casting -- I think '30 Rock' does that a little bit. Every episode, they have like Oprah ... or Nathan Lane! That goes to show you how much respect my brother Alec has for me: they're casting his brother on '30 Rock' and do I even get a call? An availability check? They go right to an offer to Nathan Lane. Nathan Lane plays the brother on a straight offer and Billy Baldwin doesn't even get an audition. Not even an availability check. It would've given him an excuse for not calling me if we weren't talking, but no, we were.

5. So we shouldn't expect to see Alec on 'Dirty Sexy Money' anytime soon?
Well, there's a character that's referred to on the show -- my father's brother, Uncle Kenneth, who was a former United States Senator, assassinated like 30 years ago. They might do a flashback sequence, and I've been talking to them about having my brother Alec play Uncle Kenneth. He would be my uncle, Donald Sutherland's brother ... I don't know if they're going to do it, but I've been talking to them about it.

For the life of me, I just don't see what the attraction/fascination is with the Baldwin brothers. They're not ugly ... but they're sure not handsome (all a little fat-faced and beady-eyed). They're not totally without acting talent, but Johnny Depp they're not. So, what's the deal with them?

William Baldwin is a low class jerk. It is beyond me why anybody on this planet cares what he thinks. He is obviously an idiot because he has a very limited vocabulary as evidenced in his use of the f word every other word. He is not fit to tie George Bush's shoelaces. I would never, ever watch him or his idiot brother Alec in anything. Stephen is the only redeeming member of that family. As a "senior citizen", I am so very sad to see what is happening to this wonderful country. I fear for my children and grandchildren if we continue on this treacherous path. And again I say, William Baldwin is a low class jerk.

William Baldwin is a dufus, with a capital "D". He keeps his head where the sun doesn’t shine. He knows not what he speaks about and forgets what he promises. In 1999, he promised to leave the United States if President Bush was elected. Bush won and William is still around. Evidently, no other country would accept his blotted ego. Use any derogatory word you want to describe WB and it would be correct..
